The Cub Scout Promise

I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to The King,
To help other people
And to keep the Cub Scout Law.
Our group is open to adults and children of all faiths and of none, and we respect the different beliefs of everyone. Alternative wordings of the promise that both young people and adults may wish to use to best reflect their beliefs are available. Please let us know if you would like us to provide these.

The Cub Scout Law

Cub Scouts always do their best,
Think of others before themselves
And do a good turn every day.

The Uniform

Cub uniform consists of a green sweatshirt with your badges sewn on and a coloured scarf or 'necker’ to represent your local group. There are lots of other optional accessories you can wear such as hats, hoodies, navy blue trousers, or shorts.

Why uniform is important

Wearing a uniform is comfortable and practical. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out and helps everyone feel part of the Pack. It also gives you a place to show off all the badges you earn.

Where to get your uniform

Necker’s are provided free of charge by the group.

Uniform can be purchased from the Scout Shop here: https://shop.scouts.org.uk/scouts-sections/cubs-scouts/cub-scouts-uniform.

We also have a small stock of second-hand uniform. Please ask a leader if you would like further information.

The Meetings

Meetings are held weekly at the time detailed above. Cubs are expected to be present on time, and in uniform unless otherwise informed.

At the beginning of a meeting the Cub leader will take the register before the Cubs do the Grand Howl and unfurl the Union flag. This marks the beginning of the meeting. At this point, the activities planned by the Cub leader are undertaken.

At the end of the meeting, Cubs will stand to attention and lower the flag before the meeting is concluded.

Badges

After being invested, your Cub will receive the Membership, Group Name Tape, District, and County badges to be sewn on to their uniform.

The position of the badges is detailed below, and more information about where they should be placed can be found here

And as your Cub attends meetings and joins in the Cub activities, they will be awarded other Activity badges. More details about the badges that are awarded can be found here.
